Water Works Pumping Station 1910

PumpingStation1910

Post marked Eloise, June 11, 1910 to Mr Lee Weaver, Eastern States DC, Buffalo, N.Y.

“Your card and hand found me fine and dandy.  I think I will be eating bon-bons soon.  Write soon,  Birtha B. Deming.  ”

The Pumping Station at Water Works Park is a sight well worth seeing.  The ponderous machinery in connection with its mammoth pumps forces 103,000,000 gallons of water through the mains every twenty-four hours.   This view shows the three Allis-Chalmers triple expansion engines.  The fly wheels on each of the engines weigh more than forty tons each.
