I’ll take a blackeye any day … -1912

BlackEye1912

I’ll take a blackeye any day to kiss the girl I love. No 157 Entering Stationers Hall,  London

Post marked Saginaw West Side, Mich.  Aug 5, 1912.  Addressed to Mr. Lee Weaver, 94 Tireman Ave., Detroit, Mich.

“8-3-12  Friend Lee,  Having a fine time.  Rather cold here.  Caught a bad cold coming.  Neuralgia for two days.  Expect to see Ethel by Thursday.  Don’t work too hard.  F.”

More controversy?  Is this Florence O? Is this Florence K?  Cannot tell.  The handwriting does not look like Grandma’s later penmanship.   But the salutation of Friend is her usual.  And Grandma did have a sister Ethel.   Anyway, whichever one, she was raising the bar of expectation for Grandpa.
