Golden Rule – 1913

GoldenRule1913

There are Creeds and Rules to guide us And help us in Life’s School   But the Finest Creed For every need, is the Good Old Golden Rule.  Copyright, 1908, by Sandford Card Co., Dansville, N.Y.

Post marked Birmingham, Mich.  April 2, 1913.  Addressed to Mrs. Effie L[ee] Weaver, 94 Tireman Ave., Detroit, Mich.

“Dear Aunt, I was going to write you right away Monday but you see I didn’t.  It rained so hard Sunday night that we stayed to Aunt Ora’s [Ora Lee Churches, Effie’s sister] all night.  Came home in the morning.  We did not get wet.  Uncle George [George Churches, Ora’s husband] was to the car to meet us.  Papa [Stephen A. D. Wright, Marietta Lee Wright’s husband] said he would like a gallon of maple syrup.  Will you please write and tell me where to send Lee’s [Lee G Weaver, Effie’s son] mail.  All are well.  Stella [Estelle Wright]”

Aunt Ora and Aunt Myra (Hannah Almira) married brothers – George W. and Robert Richard Churches.  I never knew Great Grandma Weaver was the source of Maple Syrup.
