634  Home Economics Building, Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio.  7245.  Published by Haenlein Bros., Columbus, Ohio  634.

No post mark, yet 2¢ stamp is affixed.  Addressed to Mrs. C. P. [Casmear P / Phebie Ann Gardner] Koontz, 5616 Brooklyn Ave, Detroit, Mich.

“Dear Mother, Harold [Spuhler] has been here. Left today.  Just received your card.  I am very busy so I hain’t wrote. I am now manager of Mykrantz Store at Wisconsin & Broad St.  More pay; less hours.  You better come.  Heinie. [Henry Allen Koontz]”

I remember that for a short period, Grandma Florence and Grandpa Lee lived on Brooklyn, I am just not sure of the years.  It would have helped if the stamp on this post card had been cancelled or if Uncle Heinie had dated his message to Great Grandma Koontz.

Since Uncle Heinie refers to Harold having been there and having left, I would pinpoint this as before 1923 when Uncle Harold married Grandma Florence’s and Uncle Heinie’s sister, Essie Koontz.  Not sure if Uncle Heine wanted Great Grandma Koontz to come home because he missed her or he needed her to keep Essie and Harold in line.   In addition to being Aunt Essie’s second husband, Uncle Harold was her Half 1st cousin, once removed (it’s complicated).
